American Flag and Pegasus Airbrush Nail Art

In my last few days of spring break at home, I of course needed to hit up one of my favorite nail art spots in LA. The artist specializes in airbrush nail art. He is really sweet and so talented. He makes all of his own stencils and has hundreds of designs to choose from.

Today I chose to an American Flag design. I absolutely love the way the stripes serve as a type of french manicure. This would obviously be a fantastic design for the 4th of July. I wouldn't consider myself necessarily patriotic but I love the design of the American flag on its own. Its become super trendy in current fashion. I followed the trend by buying an awesome American Flag sweater from Brandy Melville and now these nails :)

My best friend Karima came with me as well and she chose to do pegasus on a nude background. Love this as well. It's so detailed! And of course super cute.

Abstract Sparrow Nail Art

Hey Y'all sorry I haven't written in so long. I've been home in LA for spring break and have been so busy! It's been a blast. I've been eating at all my favorite restaurant's, pool lounging, hanging with my friends, going out to my favorite bars. Man I do not want to go back to the East Coast. Anywho today I wanted to show you guys my abstract sparrow nail art. For the base coat I used "Fair Dinkum Pinkum" by OPI and for the designs I used the gold glitter, silver glitter, and black nail polish by Milani's Nail Art collection. Let me know your thoughts!

Easter Colors Mani

Hey Everybody! I just touched down in LA this morning for spring break and boy does it feel good to be home! First thing I did was of course get a manicure hahah shocking. I decided to mix things up and  use a couple different pastels for an Easter theme. The colors I used are "Bikini So Teeny", "Lilacism", and "Hard to Get" all by Essie. I also almost used "Banana Bandanna" by OPI, but decided it would be a little colorful for what I was trying to go for. Even though I didn't use it, I think it would be a great additional color to this mani to make it a little more funky. Funny enough I looked down and realized that the colors I chose matched my floral print leggings that I just bought! Let me know your thoughts! Enjoy!

Ninja Turtle Nails: Throwback

I was looking through old photos and came across this ninja turtle nail art design I did exactly three years ago. This was probably one of the first times I did nail art on myself. Like it says in the description I have been wearing nail polish since the 6th grade. I feel naked without it and never go out with bare nails. This photo makes me totally nostalgic as I'm now in my last semester of college. So much has changed! And who knew back then I would be starting a nail blog haha. Enjoy!

Ke$ha Inspired Nail Art

Tonight's post is dedicated to all you night owls out there. I can't sleep right now so I figured I would write about the self proclaimed "animal of the night", Ke$ha. I have mixed feelings about her because I absolutely adore her but sometimes her music and lyrics can be so juvenile. I understand that her market is geared towards young teens, which probably directs the spirit of her albums, but sometimes in songs such as "Kiss and Tell" she just totally obliterates any feminist progress by singing, " I can't date a dude with a vag". To her credit I think her "I don't give a fuck" attitude can be quite inspiring. I don't like her new album as much as the first, but I am obsessed with the song "Dirty Love" feat Iggy Pop. I also am totally a fan of the blue lipstick. I was so inspired by her awesome make up I decided to be her for halloween in 2011. Pictured Above is the nail art I designed for the costume.

Eye See You Nails

Happy Friday Everybody. As usual I will be having a crazy weekend long studio sesh instead of going out, but I'm excited about it. I'm tackling a 8 ft x 7 ft painting at the moment that I am hoping to finish before Spring Break, but of course I'm procrastinating and writing posts about my nails ahahah. That being said one of my favorite nail designs I've done in the past are my eyeball nails. I'm hoping to recreate them soon with a more fun design. Tell me what you think! Any ideas to make this nail art  more interesting and funky? Let me know!

St Patrick's Day Nails

Happy Almost St Patrick's Day!! For this week's nail art I wanted to get festive for St Patrick's Day, which is such a fun and drunk holiday for me usually. I'm hoping it will be the same this year! For the base coat I used "Peas and Qs" by Nicole by OPI and "Goldeneye" by OPI. The darker green is "Emerald" by Revlon and the other two colors are black and "Green Sketch" by Milani Nail Art. Let me know what y'all think of this design!

3D Nails

I got these 3D gel nails done a while back at Marie Nails in Beverly Hills, CA. I really loved all of the manicurists there. They were very sweet and allowed me as much creative input into the design as I wanted. This design was a collaboration between myself and the manicurist. The only semi complaint is the price, but that is expected in Los Angeles especially with such a crazy design. I wish there were more places in LA that did more affordable 3D gel nails. If anybody knows of any affordable places in the Los Angeles or New York City area that does 3D gel nails like this please let me know! I would also love to learn how to do this kind of nail art myself. I definitely will try and learn after college grad when I have more free time!

Unicorn Rainbow Nails

Even though Halloween happened months ago, it is my favorite holiday and I feel that it should be Halloween everyday so I'm writing a post about my Rainbow Nails from my 2012 Unicorn costume. Also I think this could also be replicated as a fun St Patricks day design. Maybe just add a clover or two? My next nail art will be st Patrick's day themed so stay tune for that!

For the red color I used "Big Red Apple" by OPI, the orange is "Peachy" by Revlon, the yellow is "Electric" by Revlon, the green is "Green Sketch" by Milani Nail Art, the blue is by Charlotte Rousse and the purple is "Commander in Chic" by Sally Hanson.

Simple Spring Nails

Nail Art can be very tedious and take a really long time. If y'all are looking for a quick and simple design I would suggest always using a fab pop out color and just doing a design on either ring finger or thumb (or both) or just doing simple polka dots (easy and cute!).

For a simple spring design I used "Electric" by the top speed Revlon collection. Their polish actually does dry faster than other polishes I've used and I love their colors. On top of this they it is a more affordable brand. For the flowers I used "Black" and "Draw in Pink" by Milani Nail Art.

I always know spring is right around the corner when I start seeing Daffodils around my college campus. So excited for spring time!

Floral Print Nail Art

Today's post is all about my newest spring nail art! I was inspired by my friend and housemate, Chelsea's John Galt floral print backpack by Brandy Melville. For the base coat I used "Alpine Snow" by OPI. For the flowers I used "Big Apple Red" by OPI and for the petals I used "Emerald" by Revlon and "Uh-Oh Roll Down the Window" by OPI. Let me know what y'all think! I'd love to hear your comments.

Sequins

My best friend gave me sequin nails by Ciate for Chistmas which I absolutely loved. I really want to try the other Ciate nail effects. Have any of you used any of the other ones? Which one should I invest in next?

Spring Nail Art

Happy March everybody! Spring is just around the corner (from an optimistic point of view) and I wanted to post some of my favorite spring nail art I have done! I did two different versions of the same design, which do you guys prefer? Let me know!

For the top design I used "Paradise Pink" by Milani, "What's With the Cattitude?" by OPI for the base coats. On the thumb I used "I Pink I Can" by Sally Hanson Manicure, "Juicy Glow" by Milani for the base coat.

For the bottom design I also used "Paradise Pink", but changed the blue to a green color "Peas and Q's"  by Nicole by OPI. For the thumb I used "Peachy" and "Electric" by Revlon for the basecoat.
